Program for the 2017 Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour to the Northern Midlands

The iconic 18-carat gold Emirates Melbourne Cup will visit the Northern Midlands on Wednesday 27 September

A busy day has been planned for when the iconic 18-carat gold Emirates Melbourne Cup visits the Northern Midlands on Wednesday 27 September, as part of its 2017 Tour. The Northern Midlands Council is excited to share the program details.

10.30am to 11.30am - Perth First stop of the day is Eskleigh, Perth, where residents and guests can see the cup, take photos, hear stories from the Victorian Racing Club personalities, and ask questions. Morning tea will be enjoyed.
11.50am to 12.45pm - Cressy Next stop is Cressy District High School. Students will have question time and photo opportunities.
1pm to 2.15pm - Longford From Cressy, the Cup heads to Toosey Aged and Community Care at Longford. A light lunch will be enjoyed, and residents will have photo opportunities, hear stories from the VRC personalities, and ask questions.
2.30pm to 4.30pm - Longford Then it’s onto the Longford Race Track for a Community Fun Afternoon. A family friendly event including a free BBQ by Longford Rotary, pony rides, a jumping castle, music, children’s games and face painting.
5.30pm to 7.30pm - Longford To end the day, the Cup heads off to the Queens Arms Hotel, for a fundraising cocktail function for the Helping Hand Association Inc. Catered by the Happy Chef, there is also a sports memorabilia auction, photo opportunities with the Cup and a Melbourne Cup Ambassador. Tickets are $35.00, available from the Northern Midlands Council, Queens Arms Hotel, Helping Hand Office, or by phone 6397 7303.

There is also a photo competition, where all who enter are eligible to win a $100 Myer gift card, as well as go in the draw for a trip for two to Emirates Melbourne Cup Day including flights and accommodation.
