Building Services

The Building Department is responsible for all approvals as required by the Tasmanian Building Regulations. These Regulations assure all residents that Commercial/Industrial, all residential buildings, garages, carports and all rural buildings are constructed to an acceptable standard and it ensures that residents are protected at all times.

Buildings and Extensions

You are reminded that the erection of any building or structure and any external or internal alterations to any building requires building approval. Any plumbing works associated with these alterations etc. must be undertaken by a registered plumber.

Following on from approval of your plans, periodic and statutory inspections are carried out by officers of the Building Department and the following inspections are mandatory:-

  • Foundations and Floor Slabs
  • Frame
  • Stormwater and Sewerage Drains
  • Final inspection on completion.
