Elections and Enrolments

You may be eligible to make application to be enrolled on the General Manager's Roll of the Northern Midlands Council under one of the following sections:

  • A corporate body which owns or occupies any land in the Northern Midlands Council municipal area is entitled to nominate one (1) person to vote on its behalf at Municipal Elections    
  • A person who is over the age of 18 years and a resident of a municipal area, other than Northern Midlands, but is also an owner or occupier of land in the Northern Midlands Council municipal area is entitled to vote at Municipal ElectionsLink for form on below site
  • A person who is over the age of 18 years is a owner occupier of land in the Northern Midlands Council municipal area but is not an Australian citizen is also entitled to vote at Municipal Elections.

 

If you believe you are eligible under one of these categories listed above please complete on the relevant form and return it to the General Manager, Northern Midlands Council, PO Box 156, Longford TAS 7301Should you be interested in becoming a Councillor at the next local government election, or for the latest information regarding Local Government Elections refer to the Tasmanian Electoral Office - Local Government Section at http://www.electoral.tas.gov.au/pages/LocalGovernmentMain.html
