William Zappa Performance - The Iliad Out Loud

A Ten Days on the Island event. Part one at Clarendon Arms Hotel. The Iliad - Homer's forensic exploration of the battlefields of Troy. Over 3000 years since The Iliad was first performed, the brilliant Australian actor and playwright William Zappa now thrillingly brings this epic poem back to life for modern audiences. In the tradition of oral storytelling, Zappa delivers a contemporary rhythmic adaption that reveals one again the ancient themes of human folly and passion, the pain and brutality of war, and the meddling arrogance of the gods. Zappa represents the Iliad Out Loud as a solo reading in three parts, in three intimate settings across North East Tasmania.

7.30 pm.
