Environmental Health Officer (EHO)

The Northern Midlands Council in conjunction with Break O’Day Council have a fantastic employment opportunity, which will work across both Councils.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer who is passionate and proactive in his/her approach to supporting and serving the community. Responsibilities will include monitoring regulations, inspections and investigations that actively supports public and environmental health. This role will be an integral addition to both Council’s to ensure compliance with the applicable legislation.
Our ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or equivalent, as well as a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position. He/she will also have the ability to work autonomously, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to use their initiative and manage priorities to meet deadlines. A current drivers licence is also a must.
This position will be offered on a full-time basis, working three days at Northern Midlands Council based in Longford and two days at Break O’Day Council based in St Helens. Terms and conditions of employment will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
